What to know in Latvia
Read 4 November 2026 from the official pages linked. A rule can change; your accountant has the last word. Nivasik does not file tax or connect to a tax authority's system: where one is required, keep it and run Nivasik beside it.
- Latvia charges VAT, called PVN. The registration threshold is EUR 50,000 of turnover, counted over the calendar year. Source
- If you take cash, card or other payments you must register them in a cash register, and the duty does not depend on turnover. Restaurants and other catering places must always use one. There are exceptions, for example for selling your own produce at a market or wholesale paid only by bank transfer. Source
