About Nivasik

Who makes Nivasik, and the rules it is built by

Nivasik is operations software for independent hotels, hostels, restaurants and shops, made in India. This page says who makes it, how it began, how it is built and where your data lives.

Nivasik is operations software made in India for small and independent businesses: a property management system (PMS) for hotels, hostels and resorts; a point of sale (POS) for restaurants, cafes and shops of every kind; staff roles, attendance and payroll; and a day book of expenses — all on one set of books, in rupees.

It is made and run by the Nivasik Team in India, and was founded in 2026. Every property starts with 45 days free, with the whole product unlocked.

Who makes it

Nivasik is made and run by the Nivasik Team, in India. It was founded in 2026. The team that builds it is the team that answers for it — for what it does and what it does not do, which is why this site says both.

Questions reach the team directly: write to support@nivasik.com or on WhatsApp +91 98126 67600. We reply within a day. Properties on the Group plan get a direct line to the Nivasik Team.

How it began

Nivasik started as a desk for guest requests. At small independent hotels, requests arrived on WhatsApp and by word of mouth, were handed over between shifts, and got lost; nobody tracked how long anything took, and the owner could not see any of it.

The idea was PagerDuty — the on-call alerting tool software teams use — for a hotel. A guest scans a QR code in the room, with no app and no login; the request becomes a ticket with one owner and a clock; the owner’s phone is alerted; and a breached target escalates up the chain. That queue is still the spine of the product.

The first pilot was a small hostel in Himachal Pradesh, and it used the request queue and nothing else. At the pilot — one small property, 12–30 May 2026 — 45 guest requests were raised in nineteen days and 29 were resolved, with a median of 32 minutes from request to resolved. The other 16 were never marked resolved and are not counted. 28 were logged by staff, 14 came from a room's QR code, 2 by voice and 1 on WhatsApp. It is the only measured number Nivasik publishes.

Everything else was built on the same spine after it: the front desk and the rest of the property management system, the till for restaurants, cafes and shops of every kind, staff and payroll, and the day book. They share one database and one set of books, so a room night, a plate from the restaurant and a day’s wages land in the same day’s figures. All of it runs on the sample property in the live demo, which opens without signing up.

The rules it is built by

Six decisions you will meet all through the product.

Say what it does not do.

Every page that sells a feature says its limit on the same page. The booking page takes bookings as pay-at-the-property, because card payment needs a gateway account only the property can open. The channel manager is two-way iCal with Airbnb and Booking.com, not a rate push into MakeMyTrip. Guest messaging writes the message and opens WhatsApp with one tap; it does not send anything by itself. The honest version is the selling point.

One measured number, with its caveats.

Nivasik publishes one statistic — the pilot’s median time to resolve a guest request — and says which requests it leaves out. There are no customer counts, star ratings, awards or customer logos here to cite.

Money carries a name and a reason.

A discount, a write-off or a complimentary plate is recorded with a reason. Voids, refunds and price changes at the till need a manager’s PIN and land on the owner’s record with a name. A night nobody billed stays on a list until someone bills it or writes it off. Payslips freeze once paid, and the record of who did what cannot be edited or deleted.

The database enforces the rules.

Each property’s rows are isolated by the database itself, with row-level security — not by a check in the app that a clever request could skip. Passwords are checked on the server, never in the browser.

India first, in rupees.

GST invoices, GSTR-1 data and a Tally import file; the police register and Form C for foreign guests; Indian ID documents; an interface in English and Hindi. Money is shown in the property’s own currency and never converted.

We do the setup.

About a day, and we do it: rooms, outlets or spaces, menu, staff, rate types and prices, response targets per category, and the QR codes to print. An existing room list in Excel can be imported. Then we walk it end to end on your phone.

Where your data lives

  • Built and run following security best practices
  • Every property's rows are isolated by the database itself (row-level security), not by an application check
  • Passwords are checked on the server, never in the browser
  • Managed Postgres in Singapore (AWS ap-southeast-1), encrypted in transit and at rest, daily backups
  • ID documents in a private store; every read mints a link that expires in two minutes
  • You own your data; export on request; offboarding actually deletes it, including scanned IDs; no lock-in period, no exit fee

The detail is in the Privacy Policy and the Terms.

Who it is for

Hospitality: independent hotels — 20 to 80 rooms is the sweet spot — boutique hotels, hostels with a QR code on every dorm bed, resorts, homestays, guest houses and service apartments.

Food and retail: restaurants, cafes, bars, cloud kitchens taking app orders, bakeries, grocery and kirana stores, and shops of every kind — general, clothing, hardware, stationery, sweets and more. A shop sees a shop’s screens and a shop’s words — counter, customer, shop — and none of the hotel modules.

Offices and facilities use the request queue for washrooms, pantries, meeting rooms and parking.
