Free for everyone

Free GST billing software — ₹0, the right bill for your registration

A tax invoice for regular GST, a bill of supply for composition, or a plain bill for a business that is not registered — with MRP taken apart to the paisa, and GSTR-1 data for your accountant.

Free for everyone · ₹0 · no card · opening offer, until further notice · we do the setup

Nivasik’s GST billing software is free for everyone — ₹0 under an opening offer, until further notice. It prints the bill your registration calls for: a tax invoice with CGST and SGST (or IGST) for a regular GST registration, a bill of supply for a composition dealer, and a plain bill for a business that is not registered.

It keeps the figures your accountant needs — GSTR-1 data and a Tally import file — and does not file returns itself.

A bill for each kind of registration

Set once in Settings → GST registration
Your registrationWhat every bill becomes
Regular GSTA tax invoice with your GSTIN, the tax worked out per line and split into CGST and SGST — or IGST where the rules call for it — and HSN or SAC codes on the items.
CompositionA bill of supply with your GSTIN and the words the rules require of a composition taxable person, with no tax collected on the bill.
Not registeredA plain bill with no GSTIN and no tax, marked “Not a tax invoice”.

A bill keeps the registration it was made under. Switch from composition to regular and an old bill reprints exactly as it was issued, and the months before the switch can still be exported as they were. A rate you set on an item is never rewritten: while you are not on regular GST the counter simply sells at 0%, and switching back brings every rate back.

The arithmetic it gets right

  • Tax taken out of an MRP, not built up: a ₹40 bottle at 5% is ₹38.10 plus ₹1.90 — it bills ₹40.00, never ₹40.01.
  • A discount comes off the taxable value, spread across the lines by their value, and the tax follows it.
  • Charges are taxed — packing, delivery, a voluntary service charge — at the rate you set for them.
  • The customer’s GSTIN on a bill to a business, and credit notes netted off the tax.
  • HSN by line in the reports, with the tax by rate and by code.
  • For a hotel: GST invoices from the guest’s bill, where the preview is the invoice that is issued.

What your accountant gets

  • GSTR-1 data for the period, refused — with the reason — for a period that holds bills made under composition or with no registration.
  • A Tally import file (CSV) for the period’s sales.
  • Registers of bills, returns and credit notes, ready to export.

This is an opening offer. We may change it, or end it, at any time, without prior notice. If the offer changes or ends, any price applies from then. Your records stay yours and can be exported on request.

What it does not do

Said plainly, before you start

  • Online selling: marketplace orders and settlements come in as the marketplace’s own report files (CSV) or are typed in. It does not sync live with Amazon, Flipkart or Meesho and does not push stock to any marketplace — the screen says what to set on each. Live Amazon and Flipkart sync waits on approvals from each marketplace; Meesho has no seller API. It never asks for a marketplace password or API key. No shipping labels, manifests or courier booking, no e-way bill or e-invoice, no GST or TDS filing, no repricing and no ads management.
  • No e-invoice (IRN) or e-way bill; GST data is exported, not filed.
  • Tally: an import file (CSV), not a live sync.
  • It does not file GST returns, and it does not prepare CMP-08 or GSTR-4 for a composition dealer.
  • It does not decide which GST rate applies to an item — that is for the official sources and your accountant.

Free tools for GST

Add GST, take it out of an MRP, split it into CGST and SGST. No account and no sign-up.

Other free ways to do this, and what they cost

Nivasik is not the only free way to do this. Each of these is worth knowing, and each has a cost that is not on a price list.

A notebook and a calculator

Costs almost nothing and works in a power cut. What it costs is time: every total is added by hand, nobody away from the desk can see it, and an entry can be changed later with nothing to show it was.

A spreadsheet

Free, flexible, and good for a list one person keeps. It struggles when three people edit it on three phones, when a formula is typed over, or when you need to know what it said last Tuesday.

A free edition of a paid product

Some software has a free edition with limits on rooms, bills or users. Read what the limit is, and what happens to your records the day you pass it.

A GST invoice template in Word or Excel

Free to download and fine for a few bills a month. Every bill is typed out by hand, the tax is checked on a calculator, and at the end of the month somebody adds the copies up for the return.

Questions people ask

Is there free GST billing software?

Nivasik’s GST billing is free for everyone at ₹0, as an opening offer until further notice: tax invoices, bills of supply and plain bills, HSN and SAC codes, GSTR-1 data and a Tally import file.

Can a composition dealer use it?

Yes. Set your registration to composition and every bill becomes a bill of supply with your GSTIN and the words the rules require, with no tax collected on it.

Does it file GST returns?

No. It prepares GSTR-1 data and a Tally import file for your accountant; it does not file returns, make e-invoices or e-way bills, or prepare CMP-08 or GSTR-4.

Does it handle MRP prices that include tax?

Yes. The tax is taken out of an MRP rather than added on, so a ₹40 item bills ₹40.00 with ₹1.90 of tax at 5%, never ₹40.01.

Can I bill without a GST registration?

Yes. Set it to not registered and every bill is a plain bill with no GSTIN and no tax, marked “Not a tax invoice”.

Run your own place on it, free. It is ₹0 for everyone.

We do the setup with you — your rooms, menu or stock list, your staff and your prices — in about a day. No card, and nothing to pay while the opening offer runs.
