Free billing software for shops — ₹0, billed the way your shop sells

By barcode at MRP in a kirana, by the kilo in a sweet shop, by batch and expiry in a medical store, by size and colour in a clothing shop — with khata, stock and a counter that keeps billing offline.

Free for everyone · ₹0 · no card · opening offer, until further notice · we do the setup

Nivasik’s billing software for shops is free for everyone — ₹0 under an opening offer, until further notice. It bills the way your kind of shop sells: by barcode at MRP in a kirana, by the kilo in a sweet shop, by batch and expiry in a medical store, by size and colour in a clothing shop — and the counter keeps billing when the internet goes.

Khata, stock, suppliers, the cash drawer and the day’s close are in the same product. There is no card to give, and we set it up with your stock list.

How it bills, shop by shop

  • Kirana and grocery: scan the barcode and the MRP is the ceiling — a line can never be billed above it. Rice and dal sold loose go by the kilo, and a weighing scale’s sticker barcode carries the weight. Regulars go on khata, and nearby homes can order on your own store link for delivery.
  • Medical store: search by name, barcode or salt, see the box or shelf it sits in, and find other medicines with the same salt. Sell a strip or loose tablets. The oldest in-date batch goes first, and the database refuses a line from an expired batch; what is going off in 30, 60 or 90 days is listed for a supplier return.
  • Sweet shop: sell by weight on a keypad in kilos or grams, count the shelf each morning, and make peda from khoya made from milk — recipes that reach back to the milk. Milk bought by fat and SNF is recorded with its rate, and the bill can say how many days the sweets keep.
  • Clothing, footwear, hardware and other shops: sizes and colours, barcode labels printed for anything that arrives without one, and returns or exchanges against the original bill.

At the counter

  • One tap to get paid: Cash, UPI or khata straight from the cart. For cash, type what was handed over and the change shows.
  • Speak or type a sale in English, Hindi or Hinglish — “do kilo peda”, “2 kg atta cash” — and confirm it before anything is written.
  • A UPI QR for the exact amount on the screen and on the bill, paid to your own UPI ID.
  • GST bills, bills of supply, or plain bills, depending on how your shop is registered — see free GST billing.
  • Bills on 2, 3, 4 or 5 inch rolls, with your name, address, phone and GSTIN at the top.
  • Offline: the counter keeps billing with real bill numbers and sends the bills, oldest first, when the connection is back. A Windows app keeps working offline too, with a copy kept on the computer.
  • A manager PIN for voids, refunds and discounts beyond a limit, each on the owner’s record with a name.

What it costs

What it costs — ₹0 under the opening offer
Plan and priceWhat it covers
POS add-on
₹0 per outlet / month
The counter, barcode and weight billing, khata, stock and batches, suppliers, the cash drawer and the day’s close — per counter that keeps its own takings
  • Every plan and add-on is ₹0 and the whole product is unlocked for everyone. No per-guest fees, no usage meters and no setup fee.
  • There is no card to give and nothing to pay.

This is an opening offer. We may change it, or end it, at any time, without prior notice. If the offer changes or ends, any price applies from then. Your records stay yours and can be exported on request.

What it does not do

Said plainly, before you start

  • Online selling: marketplace orders and settlements come in as the marketplace’s own report files (CSV) or are typed in. It does not sync live with Amazon, Flipkart or Meesho and does not push stock to any marketplace — the screen says what to set on each. Live Amazon and Flipkart sync waits on approvals from each marketplace; Meesho has no seller API. It never asks for a marketplace password or API key. No shipping labels, manifests or courier booking, no e-way bill or e-invoice, no GST or TDS filing, no repricing and no ads management.
  • No card or UPI terminal integration, no payment gateway.
  • No e-invoice (IRN) or e-way bill; GST data is exported, not filed.
  • A weighing scale is read through label-scale barcodes, not over USB.
  • Printing goes through the device's own print window, on 2, 3, 4 or 5 inch rolls; it was tested by printing to PDF, not on every printer, and a test strip helps line it up. There is no built-in Bluetooth printing: on Android a Bluetooth printer works only through its maker's print app, and Nivasik has not tested one.
  • There is no Schedule H or H1 register, no prescription check and no drug database for a medical store.

Free tools for a shop

Pricing from cost, and the tax inside an MRP. No account and no sign-up.

Other free ways to do this, and what they cost

Nivasik is not the only free way to do this. Each of these is worth knowing, and each has a cost that is not on a price list.

A notebook and a calculator

Costs almost nothing and works in a power cut. What it costs is time: every total is added by hand, nobody away from the desk can see it, and an entry can be changed later with nothing to show it was.

A spreadsheet

Free, flexible, and good for a list one person keeps. It struggles when three people edit it on three phones, when a formula is typed over, or when you need to know what it said last Tuesday.

A free edition of a paid product

Some software has a free edition with limits on rooms, bills or users. Read what the limit is, and what happens to your records the day you pass it.

A bill book and a calculator

Cheap and familiar. Every bill is added by hand, nothing comes off the stock, and the khata lives in a second notebook nobody totals.

Questions people ask

Is there free billing software for a shop in India?

Nivasik’s shop billing is free for everyone at ₹0, as an opening offer until further notice: barcode and weight billing, batches and expiry, khata, stock and the day’s close, with no card and the setup done for you.

Is there low-cost billing software for a small shop?

It costs ₹0 for everyone while the opening offer runs — not a cut-down edition and not a trial with a clock, so there is nothing cheaper to compare it with. The offer is until further notice: it is not a promise to stay free.

Does it work without the internet?

Yes, at the counter: billing keeps going with real bill numbers and the bills are sent, oldest first, when the connection is back. Open it online once on that device first.

Can I bill on my phone?

Yes. It runs in any browser and in the Android app from nivasik.com, and a keyboard-type barcode scanner works with it. Bills print through the phone’s or computer’s print window.

Does it work for a medical store?

Yes: batches with expiry, the oldest in-date batch first, an expired batch refused, search by salt and box, strips and loose tablets. It has no Schedule H register, prescription check or drug database.

Run your own place on it, free. It is ₹0 for everyone.

We do the setup with you — your rooms, menu or stock list, your staff and your prices — in about a day. No card, and nothing to pay while the opening offer runs.
