Nivasik bills a kirana or grocery store’s packed and loose goods on one bill — barcodes for packets, weight for loose dal and rice — keeps khata on named customers with their mobile number, and respects MRP by taking the tax out of it rather than adding it on. Khata, the way a kirana runs it
A regular takes goods today and pays at the end of the week. “Pay later — on khata” puts the whole bill on their account in one tap, or the part they could not pay today. The mobile number is required, so there is always a way to reach whoever owes, and the account shows everything bought and paid, line by line.
A reminder is one tap that opens WhatsApp with the balance already written; nothing is sent by itself. Payments are collected at the counter like any other bill.
Buying from distributors
- A reorder list of everything at or below its level, grouped by the distributor who brings it.
- A delivery posted in one step: stock up, the distributor’s bill recorded, and what you owe them updated.
- Each delivery as a lot at its own cost, so goods bought at the new price do not reprice the old stock.
- Expired or damaged goods sent back to the distributor with a debit note.
- Payments to distributors recorded against their bills, so “what do we owe this distributor” has a figure.
Home delivery
A store page lets regular customers order for pick-up or home delivery, limited to the pincodes you serve, with your delivery charge and minimum order. It takes no payment: the shop confirms the final amount and collects it on delivery or at the counter.
A kirana day
- 07:00 — the shutter goes up; the low-stock strip says sugar and oil are running out.
- 08:00–11:00 — the morning queue: packets scanned, loose dal weighed, three bills on khata.
- 12:00 — the distributor’s van: the delivery is posted and the bill recorded against him.
- 17:00 — the internet drops for twenty minutes; the counter keeps billing with real bill numbers.
- 21:30 — the drawer is counted, and the day-end report shows cash, UPI and khata separately.

Not included, said plainly
- No card terminal, UPI soundbox or payment gateway is connected.
- Loose goods are weighed on the keypad or scanned from a label-scale sticker; no scale is read over USB.
- Khata reminders open WhatsApp; nothing is sent automatically.
- E-way bills and e-invoices are not generated; month-end GST goes to the accountant as GSTR-1 data and a Tally file.
What it costs
₹1,499 per outlet a month — the store is the outlet — with no setup fee and no charge per bill. It needs no other plan. We load your items and prices during the 45 free days, and an item list saved from Excel as CSV can be imported.

How does khata work in the billing software?
All or part of a bill goes on a named customer’s account with their mobile number. The account keeps every purchase and payment, and the balance is collected at the counter.
Can I bill loose items by weight?
Yes, on the weight keypad in kilos or grams, or by scanning the sticker a label scale prints with the weight inside it.
Does it work offline?
