These are public testing methods we follow, not certifications we hold.

  • APIs, following the OWASP API Security Top 10.
  • Mobile apps, following OWASP MASVS.
  • External and internal networks, following NIST SP 800-115.
  • Cloud configuration, against CIS Benchmarks.

What a good VAPT report has

  • Who tested what, when, and what was out of scope.
  • Each finding with a CVSS severity, proof, business impact and a fix.
  • A summary a manager can read in five minutes.
  • A retest, and a note of what is now fixed.

Before you hire anyone, ask

  • Is this manual testing, or an automated scan with a logo on it?
  • Is a retest in the price?
  • Who exactly will do the work?
  • Can I see a sample report?
  • Are you empanelled, if my customer needs that?

What this is not

Said plainly

  • The Nivasik Team is not a CERT-In empanelled auditor and holds no security certification. If a regulator or customer asks for a report from an empanelled auditor, or for a certificate, that comes from them, not from us.
  • No test proves a system is safe. It shows what was found, in the time and scope agreed.
  • Nothing is guaranteed: not a pass, not a certificate, not a result.

What is VAPT?

Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing. The assessment finds weaknesses, mostly with tools. The penetration test has a person try to use them, to show what an attacker could really do.

What do I get at the end of a VAPT?

A report for your team and for management: each finding with its severity, how to reproduce it and how to fix it, then a retest and a note of what was fixed.

Who needs VAPT?

Anyone holding customer data or selling to larger companies, banks or government, who often ask for a report. Your regulator or customer may also say who must do it.

Do you issue a VAPT certificate?

We give a report and a statement of what was tested and fixed. If someone needs a certificate from a CERT-In empanelled auditor, we are not one, and you should go to one directly.

How long does VAPT take?

It depends on scope. We say how long in the written quote, before you agree.
