Free for everyone

Free restaurant management software — ₹0, the whole restaurant

Tables and the table QR, kitchen tickets and the kitchen screen, the waiter’s phone, recipes and stock, the cash drawer, staff and suppliers — all of it unlocked, set up with your own menu. An opening offer, until further notice.

Free for everyone · ₹0 · no card · opening offer, until further notice · we do the setup

Nivasik’s restaurant management software is free for everyone — ₹0 under an opening offer, until further notice — and it runs the whole restaurant, not only the bill: tables and the table QR, kitchen tickets and the kitchen screen, the waiter’s phone, recipes and stock, the cash drawer, staff and pay, suppliers and expenses. There is no card to give, and we set it up with your own menu.

It is the same product a hotel or a shop runs on, so nothing is missing because it is free: every module is unlocked from day one.

From the order to the money, on one screen

  1. The order comes in — at the counter, from the waiter’s phone at the table, or from the table’s own QR code. An order from the QR waits for a waiter to read it back to the table before the kitchen sees it, so a table that says “we did not order this” is caught before anything is cooked.
  2. The kitchen gets it by round: each round is its own kitchen ticket (KOT), printed or shown on a kitchen screen on any tablet, with each dish marked cooking and ready by the cook.
  3. The waiter knows when it is ready. The waiter whose table it is sees “Food ready — T4” on the phone, picks it up and hands it over, and the record says who carried what and when.
  4. Stock follows the dish. A dish with a recipe takes its ingredients off as it sells — and puts them back if it is voided — so the evening’s count is what the shelf should hold.
  5. The bill is split, moved or merged as the table wants, with the tax worked out per line, a discount that needs a reason, and payment by cash, UPI on a QR for the exact amount, card, or the rest on khata.
  6. The day closes with the drawer counted against what it should hold, and a report of what was sold, returned, given away and spent.

What a restaurant gets

  • Dine-in, takeaway, delivery and the counter, each with its own charges — packing, delivery, a voluntary service charge — and tips and round-off.
  • A menu with choices: pick-one options that change the price, extras that add to it, combos, photos, and a dish switched off in one tap so no phone can order it.
  • A dish made again for a guest who did not like it: free, once for each one served, flagged REMAKE on the kitchen screen, and written into a register with what it cost to make.
  • Swiggy and Zomato orders on the same kitchen screen, with the app’s commission booked as a cost on the value before tax, and a sheet of what each dish really leaves you on each app.
  • A manager PIN for voids, refunds, discounts beyond a limit and price changes, each on the owner’s record with a name.
  • Staff, attendance and pay, suppliers and what you owe them, expenses by category, and the cash drawer per counter.
  • Customers on the bill — a mobile number, points, khata — and a QR on the bill that opens a page for a Google review the customer writes and posts.
  • A sales forecast per dish for today, tomorrow and the week, from the same weekday of the last four weeks, so the kitchen knows what to prepare.

What it does not do

Said plainly, before you start

  • Swiggy and Zomato orders do not arrive by themselves yet — they are punched in at the counter. Taking them in by themselves needs a connection through UrbanPiper, which is not live yet (each app keeps its order feed for approved partners).
  • Online selling: marketplace orders and settlements come in as the marketplace’s own report files (CSV) or are typed in. It does not sync live with Amazon, Flipkart or Meesho and does not push stock to any marketplace — the screen says what to set on each. Live Amazon and Flipkart sync waits on approvals from each marketplace; Meesho has no seller API. It never asks for a marketplace password or API key. No shipping labels, manifests or courier booking, no e-way bill or e-invoice, no GST or TDS filing, no repricing and no ads management.
  • No card or UPI terminal integration, no payment gateway.
  • No e-invoice (IRN) or e-way bill; GST data is exported, not filed.
  • The kitchen screen, the tables and the waiter’s phone need the internet; the counter alone keeps billing without it, and sends its bills when the connection is back.
  • A waiter’s phone rings for a ready dish while the app is open; an alert on a locked phone has not been proven.

Free tools for a restaurant

No account and no sign-up: these run in your browser.

Other free ways to do this, and what they cost

Nivasik is not the only free way to do this. Each of these is worth knowing, and each has a cost that is not on a price list.

A notebook and a calculator

Costs almost nothing and works in a power cut. What it costs is time: every total is added by hand, nobody away from the desk can see it, and an entry can be changed later with nothing to show it was.

A WhatsApp group

Free and already on every phone, which is why so many small businesses run on one. Messages scroll away, nobody owns a request, and there is no clock and no total at the end of the day.

A free edition of a paid product

Some software has a free edition with limits on rooms, bills or users. Read what the limit is, and what happens to your records the day you pass it.

A KOT book and a bill book

Cheap, and every kitchen knows it. Nothing ties the ticket to the bill, so a dish cooked and never billed — or billed and never cooked — shows up only as money that does not match at closing.

Questions people ask

Is there free restaurant management software?

There are free ways to run a restaurant: a KOT book and a bill book, a spreadsheet, free editions of paid apps with limits. Nivasik is another: the whole restaurant — tables, kitchen, stock, staff and money — free for everyone at ₹0, as an opening offer until further notice, set up for you with no card.

Is there low-cost restaurant software?

It costs ₹0 for everyone while the opening offer runs — not a cut-down edition and not a trial with a clock, so there is nothing cheaper to compare it with. The offer is until further notice: it is not a promise to stay free. If the offer changes or ends, any price applies from then. Your records stay yours and can be exported on request.

Does it work on a tablet or a phone?

Yes. It runs in any browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and there is an Android app from nivasik.com. The kitchen screen is any tablet or TV with a browser.

Does it work without the internet?

The counter keeps billing without the internet and sends its bills when the connection is back. The kitchen screen, the tables and the waiter’s phone need a connection.

Do Swiggy and Zomato orders come in by themselves?

No, not yet. They are read off the app’s own tablet and punched in at the counter, then share the kitchen screen and stock, with the commission booked as a cost on the value before tax.

Run your own place on it, free. It is ₹0 for everyone.

We do the setup with you — your rooms, menu or stock list, your staff and your prices — in about a day. No card, and nothing to pay while the opening offer runs.
