Free for everyone

Free kitchen display system — any tablet, ₹0, with KOT printing too

Each order a docket, each dish marked cooking and ready by the cook, by station and by round — on any tablet or TV with a browser, alongside printed kitchen tickets if you want them.

Free for everyone · ₹0 · no card · opening offer, until further notice · we do the setup

Nivasik’s kitchen display system is free for everyone — ₹0 under an opening offer, until further notice. Any tablet or TV with a browser becomes the kitchen screen: each order arrives as a docket, each dish on it is marked cooking and ready by the cook, and the docket is ready when every dish on it is.

It is part of the POS, so the same order is on the counter, the waiter’s phone and the kitchen at once — with printed kitchen tickets (KOT) as well, for a kitchen that prefers paper.

How the kitchen screen works

  • By dish, not only by order: a thali and a naan are made by two people at two stations and finish at different times, so each dish has its own state — waiting, cooking, ready, served.
  • By station: tandoor, curry, cold, or halwai, namkeen, packing — the names are yours, and a screen can show one station or all of them.
  • By round: a table that orders twice gets two tickets, numbered, so the second round is not lost in the first.
  • Priority on any docket, and an app order with a promised time counted down on screen — “ready by 13:42, 8:30 left”.
  • REMAKE when a dish goes back: flagged on the screen and on the ticket, with the reason, and not charged.
  • One step back: a dish marked ready by mistake can be recalled to cooking.
  • Big, still and readable from a metre away: nothing animates on the screen, and its clocks tick in place instead of redrawing the board.
  • Told when food is ready: the waiter whose table it is sees it on the waiter’s phone; the customer sees their number on the token screen.

A KOT, a kitchen screen, or both

A kitchen ticket (KOT) is the slip that tells the kitchen what to cook; a kitchen display system (KDS) is the same thing on a screen, with the cook’s taps added. Nivasik does both: a round sent to the kitchen prints its KOT on the kitchen’s printer, appears on the kitchen screen, or both — and a dish taken off an order after the kitchen had it prints a cancel slip.

Paid at the counter first? A paid counter order reaches the kitchen by itself at a restaurant counter, so a pay-first kitchen sees every order without anyone pressing Send. A sweet shop’s counter leaves this off by default — every peda on a kitchen screen is noise — and the owner can turn it on.

What it costs

Plan and priceWhat it covers
POS add-on
₹0 per outlet / month

  • Every plan and add-on is ₹0 and the whole product is unlocked for everyone. No per-guest fees, no usage meters and no setup fee.
  • There is no card to give and nothing to pay.

This is an opening offer. We may change it, or end it, at any time, without prior notice. If the offer changes or ends, any price applies from then. Your records stay yours and can be exported on request.

What it does not do

Said plainly, before you start

  • The kitchen screen needs the internet. The counter keeps billing without it, but a kitchen screen cannot receive an order it is not connected for.
  • Swiggy and Zomato orders reach the kitchen screen once they are punched in at the counter; they do not arrive by themselves yet.
  • There is no kitchen screen hardware to buy from Nivasik: use any tablet, TV or computer with a browser.

Other free ways to do this, and what they cost

Nivasik is not the only free way to do this. Each of these is worth knowing, and each has a cost that is not on a price list.

A notebook and a calculator

Costs almost nothing and works in a power cut. What it costs is time: every total is added by hand, nobody away from the desk can see it, and an entry can be changed later with nothing to show it was.

A WhatsApp group

Free and already on every phone, which is why so many small businesses run on one. Messages scroll away, nobody owns a request, and there is no clock and no total at the end of the day.

Shouting the order

Free and fast at a small counter. It fails on a busy night: nobody knows which table has waited longest, and a dish nobody heard is a table that never got it.

Questions people ask

Is there a free kitchen display system?

Nivasik’s kitchen screen is free for everyone at ₹0, as an opening offer until further notice. It is part of the POS, runs on any tablet or TV with a browser, and needs no hardware from Nivasik.

What is the difference between a KOT and a KDS?

A KOT is the printed kitchen order ticket; a KDS shows the same order on a screen and lets the cook mark each dish cooking and ready. Nivasik does both, from the same order.

Does each dish have its own status?

Yes — waiting, cooking, ready and served — and a docket is ready when every dish on it is. A dish marked ready by mistake can be recalled.

Does it need special hardware?

No. Any tablet, TV or computer with a modern browser works, and it needs the internet to receive orders.

How do waiters know the food is ready?

The waiter whose table it is sees it on the waiter’s phone while the app is open, picks it up and hands it over; a customer waiting at the counter sees their number on the token screen.

Run your own place on it, free. It is ₹0 for everyone.

We do the setup with you — your rooms, menu or stock list, your staff and your prices — in about a day. No card, and nothing to pay while the opening offer runs.
