DPDP Act readiness: the technical side
Where your personal data sits, how it is protected, and what happens on a bad day.
DPDP readiness has a legal side and a technical side. The Nivasik Team helps with the technical side: finding where personal data sits, securing it, keeping logs and handling a breach.
For legal advice, use a lawyer. We say so on every engagement.
What we help with
- A map of what personal data you hold, where, and who can see it.
- Security safeguards that fit your size.
- Keeping access logs, and deleting what you no longer need.
- A breach plan that people can follow on a bad day.
- A checklist to take to your lawyer.

What this is not
Said plainly
- The Nivasik Team is not a CERT-In empanelled auditor and holds no security certification. If a regulator or customer asks for a report from an empanelled auditor, or for a certificate, that comes from them, not from us.
- No test proves a system is safe. It shows what was found, in the time and scope agreed.
- Nothing is guaranteed: not a pass, not a certificate, not a result.
Questions people ask
What is DPDP compliance?
Following India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules: lawful consent or reason, notice, security safeguards, breach reporting, and honouring people's rights.
When do the DPDP Rules apply?
The Rules were notified in November 2025 and come in by stages, with the main duties reported for about 18 months later, around May 2027. Check the current position with a lawyer: there have been reports of talks to shorten it.
Does a small business need to comply?
If you handle digital personal data of people in India, the Act is likely to apply. Exemptions are narrow and specific, so ask a lawyer.
Are you lawyers?
No. We do the technical side and the practical records. Get legal advice for the legal side.
