Nivasik’s attendance is free for 45 days: one square per person per day on any phone, half days counted as half, and each person’s pay for the month worked out from it. It is part of People & pay, which after the trial comes with the Group plan (₹2,499 per property a month, from 3 properties).

What it does
- Attendance — one square per person per day; half days are half.
- Salary from it — a day of pay is the monthly salary over the days in that month, never a fixed 30.
- Advances — booked as money out on the day they are handed over, and taken off the payslip.
- Payslips — frozen once paid, so a later correction to attendance cannot change what was paid.
- Ten staff roles — a role pre-fills what a person may open and which requests reach their phone.
- Productivity — real work per person across tickets, rooms cleaned, check-ins and orders.
- A record of who did what, which cannot be edited or deleted.
Attendance is marked by whoever you give People & pay to — usually the owner or a manager. There is no fingerprint machine, face scan or GPS check-in, and staff do not clock themselves in.
From attendance to salary
A day of pay is the monthly salary divided by the days in that month: ₹15,000 is ₹500 a day in a 30-day month and ₹483.87 in a 31-day one. A half day costs half a day of pay. That is the rule Nivasik’s salary screen uses, and the one the free salary calculator uses too — try it with one person’s month before you decide anything.
It is salary and payslips, not statutory payroll: Nivasik does not calculate PF, ESI, professional tax or TDS, and it files nothing.

The genuinely free alternatives, and what they cost
There are ways to do this without paying anybody. Each is worth knowing, and each has a cost that is not on a price list.
A spreadsheet
Free, flexible, and good for a list one person keeps. It struggles when three people edit it on three phones, when a formula is typed over, or when you need to know what it said last Tuesday.
A WhatsApp group
Free and already on every phone, which is why so many small businesses run on one. Messages scroll away, nobody owns a request, and there is no clock and no total at the end of the day.
A paper register
The oldest way, and it works when it is kept every day. Totals are counted by hand at the end of the month; the free register on this site at least prints the dates, the weekdays and the weekly offs for you.
A fingerprint or face machine
It records who came in and when, but it costs money, needs power and upkeep, and somebody still has to turn its report into a salary.
